About the Scholarship
Rise On Ice Aspiring Skater’s Scholarship debuted in 2024 to provide financial support to aspiring skaters. The scholarship aims to elevate the skater to success by offsetting some skating costs. Sponsored by GiantClean Products LLC., Rise on Ice awards the winner $500 and a GiantClean soaker set.
About the Recipient
After careful consideration from a panel of Rise on Ice team members, Casey’s response stood out for her exceptional demonstration of her commitment and passion for the sport.
We would like to share her inspiring answers to our short essay questions:
What does skating mean to you? Why is it important to you?
Skating to me is an outlet, it is an opportunity to express part of my identity that I can not elsewhere. Throughout chaos in my life, the ice rink and the skating community has always been a place that I can call home and feel safe within. The friendships I have made through this sport, lessons I have learned, and relationships I have built with my coach’s are some that I hold dearly to my heart and are often my reason for motivation. I would not be who I am today with skating, so many of my core memories are within this sport and there is just something about the community that is like no other.
We hope that this scholarship will not only empower you to grow as a skater, but also inspire you to support the skating community. If given the scholarship, how will you pay it forward and continue to give back to the skating community?
I want to be able to empower and inspire young skaters in the community, help them find their own strength and find their place in this wonderful community. I hope to spread positivity and encouragement to my teammates, supporting my teammates is so important to me because truly nothing can be accomplished without them and over the course of the season they all become your best friends. My goal is to be able to leave my mark on the skating community by helping young skaters fall in love with the sport the way that I did and be able to express themselves on the ice and with people who support them.

Scholarship opportunities with Rise on Ice are still ongoing! Synchronized skaters can consider applying to the Rising Dreams Scholarship by Rise on Ice and Olympic Dreams Project by April 1, 2024. Applications for the Aspiring Skater’s Scholarship will return again in November 2024.
